Introduction and Hosts
---
Jordan: Hello, everyone. Welcome back to the Uber podcast. I'm Jordan Rudolph.
Emily: I'm Emily Morris.
Jordan: Got it. Well, we better.
Emily: Yeah, we're getting closer. We're getting closer. Yeah.
Jordan: This is the UFFDA! Podcast and Emily. Emily Morris, formerly known as Emily O'Connor is here with me. .
Defining Success
---
Jordan: Today, we're [00:01:00] talking on season four, episode 20, all things success. Longterm success. When we say success as coaches. We like to view it as. Obviously, if there's a situational. Uh, or goal-based . Success outcome, but also, uh, I'm in another. Side of that sustainable success.
Like we we've proposed this question. Multiple times if you lose 30 pounds in. Gained 31 back or. Or gain 29 of it back. Is it successful? Like, were you successful? Do you actually feel successful at that? It's a valid question. Might be different for some people. Because they could have lost 30 pounds for a wedding. Had a child. Had stuff come up and they're like gain it back.
Like. Do you still view it as success? Yes. Answer's yes. But. Is there things. Things that happen through there that change your viewpoint of success and outcome. Come with it as well.
Challenges in Achieving Success
---
Emily: Well, and, and think it's valuable to dive into. That discussion of like how we identify success. What is. Is all [00:02:00] success and kind of the parameters around that as well in terms. Of where we are measuring progress. I guess towards whatever goal. Right.
Even a measure of progress. This can be a measure of success or it might not be, it might be just a benchmark to say, We're moving things in the right direction. But overall, as we. We pursue our goals, whether that be health, fitness, or otherwise. We ultimately can most likely. I just don't love to speak. Speak in absolutes.
All agree that we want to, the end goal is to be sick. Assessable, we want the end result to say successful. So
Jordan: successful. And usually happy. Those are the two.
Emily: Right.
Jordan: Right,
Emily: right. So there there's. There's usually some parameters there and I think a common ground, we can all find. In terms of. What that end result looks like, but. The how we get there can sometimes vary or. Maybe in some things we'll talk about this episode, look quite similar depending on what. The goal is
Jordan: yeah. So we want to [00:03:00] propose. Uh, the concept of what what's the secret that you have. To do. To get the listener to get overwhelming. success to keep you successful because there's a lot of people.
The Quick Fix Mentality
---
Jordan: Out there looking for that quick fix though, right?
This is, I've been doing this for almost.
It's a 12 years now, 13. I can't remember. One of those two. You've been doing this for over a decade. Since we've started. It's still been the quick fix. But everyone's looking for the easy button. Yeah. And. Our goal is to tap into that motivation as coaches. To help you the listener. Get to where you want to be and use those. Easy buttons, but also disguise them as you're going to effing do this.
And it's going to be hard. But you have us in your corner. So now we're going to do this together and you're going to prove yourself wrong a thousand times. Over and you're going to prove yourself strong a thousand times more. And. And you're going to prove that you're worth it and you can do it. And you were enough. That's our. Easy button. Right. We're going to press, [00:04:00] we're going to use your motivation. We're going to say we're pressing it and we're going to disguise it.
Turn into something else.
Emily: Right. Well, and I think it's a little bit of human nature, but also. The marketing, the site society and the culture that we live in that we always want things. Easier faster, cheaper or deliver too. Like all of the things. Right. We want that efficiency.
Jordan: And we got to cut you off about. Um, we would be lying. To listeners right now, if we. We weren't also trying to audit and go through what we do on a day to day and how we. I help people. If we, weren't also trying to do it easier, faster, and. More efficiently, right?
At all times. Did I ruin your train of thought?
Emily: No.
Jordan: Okay, perfect. I just want to make sure I plugged into, so the listeners know we're. We're also looking and trying to accomplish that as well. Always.
Emily: Where I was going, this, this, and this would not surprise anyone. That's listened. To us, something of the podcast is quite similar to where Jordan was just going with this. Watch. Was that we, as we pursue, and as we know, we live in a society of.
Simplicity vs. Ease
---
Emily: The easier, the [00:05:00] faster, the cheaper. We can pursue that while also. Not steering us down a path that of things that isn't. What we want.
Right. Staying and keeping the main thing. The main thing, keeping the goal. The goal while getting their most efficiently, but. Also in a way that meets you precisely where you're at. At along the way there too. Right. So it might not look the same and. Yes, there are more difficult moments and a lot of people. I want to tell you that you can accomplish all of these goals, perhaps. Easy. And whatever, and they actually mean you can accomplish them simply.
It's. Not going to be easy. It's just going to be simple because a lot of things, when we boil it, Down can be very simple. We can take the complex and make. It very simple. However, that does not mean easy and a lot. A lot of times in our. Society culture faster, immediate. The gratification, whatever word we want to use there, we often mistake. That simplicity for meeting it or [00:06:00] wanting it or. Expecting it to be easy when it's not. And that's really where that can kind of, we tow the line as. As we work with people. Of tapping into, like Jordan said the. The motivation to continue to go and to move and move the needle forward. Forward. Versus not. You know, doing too. Too much or too little or wherever along the way.
Jordan: The.
The Secret to Sustainable Success
---
Jordan: The outcome that the secret, like outcome that we're speaking of. Here. Could go along the lines of what you just said, and also. So it's not. Certain things that you might think. It is like, it's not a pill. It's not a supplement. It's not a magic wand. Wand. It's not a shot. Right. It's not those things.
We know that those things can work. But they all work usually in conjunction with other things to make them sustainably successor. , it's not doing something like you just said a. A lot of something. [00:07:00] Um, that could be easy. Th there's plenty of things that we could think, like what the secret. Sauces, but we're referring to one. Particular secret. Uh, that we've seen time and time again. Continue. To deliver success and happiness to people. That just. Just put this secret to work. And. Obviously, when you hear what it is here in a moment. You're going to, you're going to shake it off and say like, well, it's a no brainer or I'm I'm I'm.
Finding the Next Right Step
---
Jordan: I'm doing that anyway. But the goal is to figure out. Yeah.
What you were just saying there is to figure out. What. What. To not make things any more complicated than they have to. What's the easier. Easiest next right step that I can take. How do I take that? The secret isn't hiring a coach. Even though that's probably. Probably number two. I would say mentor, coach, somewhere in there. Right.
Hire professional. Um, it's not just doing all the. A simple things all the [00:08:00] time. It's not just staying right all the time. The secret. Is drum roll. Em.
I'm having.
The Secret to Success: Consistency
---
Emily: The secret is consistency. And staying consistent. And doing the little things over a long. Period of time. Potentially longer than you might think along period. Period of time is in order to stay. On track and build towards that success. Yes. It's not something that will just happen overnight.
It's not something that will happen. Happen next month, maybe not even in the next six months. But. But consistency. Is that true? Secret. To the overwhelming success that you. Are looking to achieve, regardless of what your goal. Goal specifically is.
Jordan: This consistency.
Consistency in Health and Finances
---
Jordan: NC piece goes, not just in your health and fitness, but it's the secret of. Your health and fitness, but if we even think of just another terms of finances, right?
If [00:09:00] we think of. Investing. When you find something to invest in. If you just put a sum of money in it at one simple time, like, yes. It could grow. It could do something like that. But if you do it weekly, if you put. X amount of dollars in percentage in whatever it is every week, every month. You do that for 25 30 years. The growth eventually goes. Goes into this exponential curve that thrives and goes up higher than. You could ever have done on your own. Your health and fitness is the same.
You. We have to continue to make these deposits. These, these deposits in your savings. Savings account. If you will, in your health and savings accounts, it's proactive. You're doing this because here's the thing you're. Going to pay for your health. At some point anyway. But if you continue to do this through these deposits every day, every. Every week, every month, whatever it is.
And you do all of those things and you keep that going. The little things like M like you just said, The, uh, there was another thing you said in there too, but if it, regardless of the point, if you continue to do those and focus. Focus on those. [00:10:00] You will be successful. The goal. It is ultimately trying to figure out what those things are and they could change. Change that could alter, you could have to adapt, evolve all the things. The. I told somebody last week, one of our clients here at unity was, Hey. This didn't come from one singular moment of why you're in this pain or why your. Our body is doing this, or why we're discussing this.
It was a death by a thousand reps. Or a thousand. Cuts. And I said, now we need to give it life through a thousand reps. Like. We just need to be super intentional and we just need to focus on the consistency of this matter because. Because there is no pill. No service, no contract. Traction, no anything out there.
That's just going to fix this in one shot. It. It took years and years to develop where we're at. It might take. Months weeks.
The Importance of Patience and Realistic Goals
---
Jordan: And months may be closer to a year to get us to the other way, but the payoff is massive. Massive. And this is where a lot of people check out. This is where people don't want to put. In that work. Yeah, whether it's because there's not motivated. They didn't get the results. [00:11:00] They expected right away, the expectancy that was there, the product was going to say, you have to know what to expect and. This is where getting realistic with your terms.
Um, You know, as you're, as you're going towards a finance goal, a health and fitness goal, whatever. You have to understand, like what's realistic for you. Um, and. And meet yourself where you're at. Like, if, if your goal is to lose 50 pounds, But your. You're not going to not give him, giving up, going out to eat. You know, multiple times per day. Um, You know, whatever whatever's in your way, like meet yourself where you're at and understand like, They losing 50 pounds.
And then in six months, 12 months might not be realistic. So you, you have to, you have to understand that about yourself too.
Emily: Absolutely. Well, and that's where. You were talking about the it's not going to be. Be something quick and that's where kind of that. I need. For and desire for that instant gratification can lead us astray. Right because we are going to look for something if we're not sure if it's working, if we don't. Don't see anything in the first week, month. [00:12:00] Day week. Week month we might think, oh, are we doing the right things?
Right. And when. We can only wait. And the only thing we can't rush is time. And we just need the time to let the reps. Do their. Our work. But we can't. Let the reps do their work. If we're const. Constantly switching what the reps are that we're doing. We have to consistently stay. With the same thing that we know works and certainly. Certainly, if it is proven to not work and we notice over whatever. The guidelines and the time period is that we set out where we would expect to. To see results.
And we are not seeing that there is something else going. Going on. We need to reassess reevaluate and alter the plan accordingly. But if that is not the case, if it is just a time thing, that's where. It can be more challenging to step back and be. Patient to let time just be that magic factor. That helps us along the way as well.
Jordan: A hundred percent. And.
Self-Assessment and Realignment
---
Jordan: For [00:13:00] those of you listening.
It's it's this is where. We can get too busy. Kind of focusing on. Yes. Like we think we're on the right track, doing all the things that we're supposed to be doing. But there's no, there's no, self-check, there's no self audit. There's no. Re assessment or realignment, right. We just continued on. Down the path where you get so ingrained into it. That you don't realize. Like, oh, I've been down this road for so long.
I forgot to take a turn back there. You still could be going in the right direction, but there might be a more efficient way to do. There might be a simpler way to do it. You're. If you talk. To yourself, six months from now. You're you're whoever you are. You're in a different place than. You are today. So sometimes it's you becoming that person? That you need to be at this moment right now. Uh, to make these next steps.
You're a different person. Than you are. So you are going to have a different perspective, view, outlook, whatever it is. It's good to reassess those things or have somebody help you do it? So that you. And continue making these strides forward. Being consistent on whatever you're. [00:14:00] Doing and knocking that out of the park.
Wrapping Up: The Secret Sauce
---
Jordan: And that's the secret sauce? T to overwhelming success, the secret to overwhelming success. I don't know why I keep saying secret sauce. Sauce, but I say that all the time. Awesome sauce and secret sauce. Uh, it's the secret to overwhelming success. It's it's it's it. Again, there's nothing out there that you're looking for outside of consistency.
That's that's what. You're looking for. So it's more, so what can you be consistent in? Or what can you be less consistent in something? If that's something that's deterring you from your goals?
Emily: I think that about wraps it up as always. Always thank you all so much for listening to this week's episode of the UFA podcast.
